Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist earning up to CAD $100,000 per annum to join this diagnostic imaging team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and performing nuclear medicine procedures using gamma cameras, SPECT, and PET/CT imaging systems. This role requires a strong attention to detail, safety, and compassionate patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including bone scans, cardiac perfusion, thyroid, renal, and hepatobiliary studies.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Operate imaging equipment and ensure proper calibration and maintenance.
- Monitor and document patient conditions and responses during procedures.
- Accurately process and submit images and reports to radiologists or supervising physicians.
- Maintain accurate records of radiopharmaceutical usage, quality control, and patient data.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including radiation protection and infection control standards.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology from an accredited program.
- Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or equivalent provincial regulatory body.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in a nuclear medicine setting.
- Knowledge of radiation safety, imaging protocols, and quality assurance processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SPECT/CT and/or PET/CT imaging.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with digital imaging systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
